Session 1 - Copilot Day to Day: Explored and Explained

This first Microsoft Copilot & Cloud User Group (MCCUG) session is about building a shared grounding in Microsoft 365 Copilot and how it fits into modern, day-to-day work.Ben Lee and Lyndsay Ansell will explore what Microsoft 365 Copilot is, where it appears across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and how people are beginning to use it in real working scenarios. The focus is on understanding, not selling: how Copilot behaves across common apps, how it connects to wider Microsoft 365 and cloud services, and what that means for IT pros, power users, and those supporting adoption.Rather than polished demos or roadmap speculation, this session is designed to establish a clear mental model of Copilot today, supported by practical examples and open discussion. It sets the foundation for future MCCUG sessions by creating a common language and baseline understanding that attendees can build on as Copilot, AI, and cloud capabilities continue to evolve.

Session 2 -Discover Microsoft 365's 1st Party agents and Agent 365

Join Martin Boam, an Architect at Microsoft's Field and Partner Center of Excellence (CoE) who will give us:A high‑level introduction to Microsoft’s 1st party agents—purpose‑built AI assistants embedded across Microsoft 365 Copilot and core apps. These out‑of‑the‑box agents bring specialised skills such as research, data analysis, meeting support, interpretation, and project automation, making work easier, keeping teams aligned, and accelerating decision‑making. The session also provides an overview of Agent 365, Microsoft’s emerging control plane for managing agents at scale. Learn how Agent 365 introduces unified agent registration, visibility, governance, identity, and access controls—enabling organisations to confidently deploy and manage Microsoft‑built agents as the agent ecosystem grows across Microsoft 365.

Lightening spot

An open, informal segment where anyone can share a quick Copilot or Microsoft 365 insight. Successes, failures, experiments, and observations are all welcome. If it’s useful or thought-provoking, it belongs here.

MCCUG Mission Statement

Who We Are
The Microsoft Copilot & Cloud User Group (MCCUG) is a UK community founded by Lyndsay and Ben.
The group exists to bring people together to learn about Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI in the Modern Workplace and Microsoft 365 and Cloud. MCCUG is a neutral, community-led space that is independent of any employer or vendor.
Our Purpose
• Increase understanding of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365 and AI and cloud technologies that shape modern work
• Create a welcoming environment for Power Users, IT Pros, Change and User Adoption teams and anyone curious about Copilot and cloud AI
• Share practical learning through demos, open discussion and real experiences
• Encourage collaboration between people who want to learn, experiment and stay informed
What We Cover
Our focus is on practical and relevant topics, including:
• Microsoft 365 Copilot across Modern work: Teams, Outlook, Loop, Excel, SharePoint and other apps
• Role-based scenarios and power-user techniques
• Governance, security and responsible use of AI within Microsoft 365
• New features and changes
• Microsoft Cloud services such as Entra and Purview where they support or enable Copilot
• Low-code and no-code extensibility; for example, Copilot Studio Lite, but with occasional deeper exploration when it adds value
How We Operate
We expect to run our events with the following approach:
• Quarterly in-person events in central London
• A possible two-part format on the same day, with a lighter “Lunch and Learn” session and a deeper evening session
• In-person only, to encourage open conversation and simplify logistics
• Free registration, limited only by venue capacity
• Supported by community sponsors who help provide refreshments and meeting venues, while keeping content independent and vendor-neutral
• A commitment to a non-commercial, non-competitive environment with no pitching or sales activity
• Growth of the organising team over time to broaden perspectives and support the community
Our Principles
• Inclusive, welcoming and accessible
• Community first, with knowledge sharing at the centre
• Practical and honest discussion rather than marketing or theory
• Balanced content that supports IT pros, power users and curious learners
• A respectful environment where questions and sharing are encouraged
How to Get Involved
Anyone is welcome to attend, volunteer, speak or support the group. Whether you are new to Copilot or experienced with Microsoft 365, MCCUG is a place to learn and share together.
